Blue Murrow was born in High Point, NC (home of John Coltrane). Originally educated in school bands, Blue began playing flute and French horn. She participated fully and received numerous awards. Continuing her formal education, Blue played in the Appalachian State University Marching band, and the ASU Symphonic Band.  Interested and inspired by a wide variety of musicians, Elizabeth Cotton, Nina Simone and Doc Watson (all NC natives), Blue has also drawn inspiration from her study of the  classical arts - music, theater and dance. Blue loves organic gardening and living on her farm in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains.
